We left Keuka Lake yesterday on time, departing about noon so that we could arrive in Erie on time for a golf lesson with Erik.

I’m beyond excited for this journey: lots of golf, hiking, backpacking, and National Parks on deck. As we work our way towards the western parks, Harvest Host stays will be the norm. Historically that has meant breweries and wineries but we are trying to drink less; golf courses to the rescue.

Our first overnight was at Mound Grove Golf Course outside Erie. Very nice camping spot in a grass field, but sadly their restaurant was (mostly) closed because of a water pump issue. I teed off for an early morning 9 holes at 7am with temps in the high 40s. Perfect way to start the day. Will play another 9 this afternoon at our next stop near Sandusky OH.
