It was a great day for us. Sadly 5 of our travel companions haven’t made it yet because of the terrible storms in the SE USA. They will arrive a day late tomorrow morning.

We had an easy arrival at Edinburgh and met up with Mike and Britt to proceed to our rental car. The agent wisely suggested we move to a larger full SUV to deal with the two sets of clubs. This is sort of a one off challenge because we had to get the four of us plus luggage plus two sets of clubs and carry bags. Going forward we will have more vehicles and can spread the love to non-golfer cars.

First we drove to Loch Lomond, east side, to park and climb the Conic Hill. The weather was amazing! We expected rain and clouds and instead had sun and winds. I’ll take it.

Tesco in Stirling Tesco in Stirling

Well technically first we stopped at the Tesco in Stirling for groceries. Everyone was so friendly there!

After stops at Inveraray Castle and St Conan’s Kirk we landed at our home for the next two nights: Bonawe House in Taynuilt. The accommodations are amazing and quirky.

With plenty of sunlight left Julie drove Mike and I to Taynuilt golf club for some fun parkland 9 holes. We had an absolute blast. Easy walking, well maintained course, other folks out playing, and some friendly staff hanging around even at 6pm on a Saturday.
