Birds of Kruger

The birding has been excellent so far, with over 35 new-to-me birds (lifers) so far. My newly developed photo management app with species detection and organization is helping immensely.

Some of these photos are from Karen’s Fuji kit and were probably taken by her, though I did spend a morning on the Lebombo trail shooting with her camera to better familiarize myself so that I could coach her a bit.

We are getting better and better photos lately with our gear as we learn more and get quicker on the draw with focusing (sometimes single point, sometimes dynamic / moving, sometimes manual). That said, a few of these photos are catalog shots of long-sought-out birds (I’m looking at you Mr. Secretary) and are below my standards but worth sharing.

Also, if you see any mis-identification of species let me know! Some the LBJs (like the larks) are very hard to distinguish,
