Our camper van was creeping towards “only one known issue left” back in April when the propane generator stopped working.

Since I had replaced the house batteries back in February the generator was working perfectly. Before that we had problems getting enough cranking juice to it for it to start, sometimes having to run the van engine (and hence alternator) to get enough power to start the generator.

Fortunately we have a very good mobile RV service tech in the area that we’ve worked with before. He went through some of the same troubleshooting I did, added oil, but still no joy. He then did something I would not be able to do: dropped the generator and exhaust pipe out of the van to take back to his shop for further diagnostics. Hopefully it is a simple fix.
