Hiking Siphon Draw

Quick post tonight – wanted to share a hike we started but couldn’t quite finish.

The bigger day hike at Lost Dutchman is Siphon Draw. I saw photos Julie shared with me and was instantly in for it. We wanted to enjoy another sunset hike but started at 2:30, a bit later than originally planned.

When we see estimated hiking times we usually cut by 40% or so. We aren’t trail runners but we’re pretty fast. So when we saw 5 to 7 hours for this one we though 3-4. We were (obviously) wrong. A lot of tough bouldering and slick rock scrambling makes this a slow but worthwhile slog. We’ll give it another go someday.
